We’re incredibly proud to share the outstanding success of our junior golfers at the Cornwall Golf Union Junior County Championships, held at Launceston Golf Club on Wednesday 30th July 2025.

Our young Saints delivered an incredible performance, bringing home four titles across multiple categories — a huge achievement for both the players and the club.

Results:

Lily Warren-Knight shot 23 points to win the Girls 9-Hole Championship.
Olivia Tucker claimed the Girls Handicap Trophy with a superb nett 65 — a performance that also earned her selection to represent Cornwall this weekend. Congratulations, Olivia!
Zachary Evans produced an astonishing round of -11 (nett 59) to win the U12 Boys Handicap Trophy, edging out fellow St Austell junior Owen Withers, who shot an impressive -8 (nett 62).
Luca Vercoe, competing over 36 holes, won the U16 Handicap Title with rounds of nett 67 and nett 65 (-8) — an excellent display of consistency and skill.

To all other St Austell juniors who took part, and we’re proud of every one of them for representing the club with such determination and sportsmanship.

A Team Effort

This success is no accident. It’s the result of the hard work and commitment from the juniors themselves, the unwavering support of their families, and the tireless efforts of those behind the scenes. We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to:

• Mark Smith and Ross Facey, our Junior Organisers, for their ongoing dedication.
• Ben Pill, our PGA Professional, for his coaching and guidance.
• All the parents and supporters, whose time, travel, and encouragement make days like this possible.

Junior golf is a vital part of what we do at St Austell Golf Club, and these achievements are a great reminder of the talent coming through our ranks.

Well done to all involved — we are proud of each and every one of you.
