Firstly, I must thank all the volunteers that gave up their time on Monday. Helping clear up the debris left behind from Storm Eunice was extremely appreciated. Between our team and volunteers, we managed to get most of the debris and trees cleared by Wednesday, which wouldn't of been possible without the support!
Greens
A light granular feed was applied at the start of the month which has given a little bit of growth and a more healthy appearance. Another light feed at the start of March should help kickstart the Greens into the spring months.
Hopefully, the amount of rainfall is not too excessive over the next few weeks as a couple of the Greens are extremely soft and growth on them is quite sparse. I will endeavor to have these Greens in play whenever the conditions allow.
Please bare with us as we have our greens renovation week w/c 28th March in place to verti-drain, hollow core, seed, feed, and top dress them. This process will be repeated at the end of the season as it is essential to keep the grass plant in as healthy an environment as possible after a large amount of play over the summer.
Fairways
Even though there isn't a great deal of growth at the moment it is important to keep them as tidy and as visually appealing as possible with a weekly cut.
Tees and Collars
Similar to the Fairways we need to cut these weekly to keep them tidy and control uneven growth. A light slow release of granular fertiliser will be applied to the Tees next week to strengthen them and add a little colour over the next few months.
Bunkers
We are continuing to renovate them with the greenside bunkers on the 9th and 18th being completed this month. Work has also started on the 10th greenside bunkers and we will continue working through as many as we can.
Tree Work
Vince and Neil have done an amazing job this week cutting and removing all the fallen trees after the storm and will continue next month to remove any remaining dead trees and limbs.
Finally, I would like to thank all the Members for being very welcoming and positive in all comments that have come our way, it is much appreciated. I will continue to work very hard with my team on all aspects of the Course.
Happy Golfing!
