If you’ve noticed new white tee markers around the front nine and are wondering what it’s all about, the answer is Golf Access!
Golf Access is a structured system for getting beginners onto the golf course in a fun way. We are excited to have launched the initiative in February which both adults and juniors can use to get into golf.
Coloured wristbands and certificates (poker chip ball markers for adults) are used to Mark progress as players make their journey to gaining CONGU handicaps by initially playing 3 holes from new Golf Access tees.
On beating defined target scores they progress through to playing 6 holes and then 9. In total there are 9 band levels to navigate with the speed of progression dependent on the scores posted. From there players move onto the standard red or yellow tees on Golf Access Plus which completes the pathway to an official handicap.
Hundreds of clubs throughout the UK and far beyond are using the system which is a finalist in the Innovation of the Year category in the 2019 England Golf Awards!
Most importantly for the club, 6 new juniors have registered on Golf Access in the first couple of weeks having had their first taster of the game via Eugenie’s popular Sunday morning coaching sessions.
With spring around the corner we are really optimistic that numbers will continue to grow.
If you have friends or relatives you think may be interested then please get in touch with Tony or Eugenie in the Pro Shop for more details.
