Congratulations to one of the current Captain Malcolm Suttons regular playing partners Scott Snelling who scored what is believed to be the first hole in one on the re-designed par 3 tenth hole. Scott hit an absolute beauty over the right hand bunkers with a touch of draw and was rewarded by failing to find his ball anywhere on the green until it was discovered nestling in the hole.
This was Scott’s first hole in one and he generously donated £50 to the Captain’s charity to ward off the multiple requests for drinks that were assailing him as word spread out on the course.
Scott was clearly playing better without the putter in his hand as a couple of holes later from about 2 feet he had three pokes, an air-shot and two kicks before declaring NR with the ball still not in the hole!
